Sandy Poffinbarger's name is one you'll want to remember.

As the recently announced treasurer of TEW, she holds a crucial role in moving our group forward in the years ahead.

"Our members are going to love Sandy," TEW president Jackalyn Rainosek shared. " She has great life experience and a great story about the professional path she chose."

Poffinbarger, a Houston native, is currently working toward completing an MBA program.  She's already earned a master's degree in women's and gender studies from the University of Texas.

She began her career as a registered nurse working at the Texas Medical Center.

Her work in medical sales and marketing  were invaluable in her role as marketing director for the Woman's Hospital of Texas.

Her passion for cooking led to the creation of her own catering business--then a stint as executive director of the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance.

She admits life has brought her down "a rich and circuitous path."

Poffinbarger recently completed a 5-year educational sabbatical that included studying Spanish in Guatemala.

"Sandy is a unique person with a unique background. We are lucky to have her," said Rainosek.

Working with TEW is a natural extension of her commitment to supporting other women.   She shared that belief in a recent written interview.  " (I have) lifelong,  deeply held convictions in women's networking together and helping each other in their professional growth."

Poffinbarger has three successful, grown  children and lives with 3 dogs  
including one that's been "visiting" for a year!
