Nominating A Woman For Women On The Move®

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must have at least seven years in the workforce in a professional, business, cultural, government or civic occupation.
  2. Must have an undergraduate degree.
  3. Must serve in a significant leadership position, executive position, business owner or have national recognition or reputation.
  4. Must have diverse involvement in community and/or charitable projects in addition to career responsibilities. TEW involvement may be cited as one example.
  5. Must have been a resident of the greater Houston or surrounding area for the past two years.
  6. TEW members are eligible except for the following: current and former TEW Women on the Move, current TEW Board members and current WOM committee members. No more than two Women on the Move may be TEW members in any given year.
  7. Declared candidates running for public office in the current year are not eligible.
  8. If selected, the honoree must be available for a potential 30-min interview scheduled June 5-7, 2012. Honorees will also attend the 2012 Women on the Move® reunion dinner on August 28, 2012, and attend the 2012 Women on the Move® Luncheon on November 1, 2012.
  9. If selected, the honoree commits to become a dues-paying TEW member for two years plus commits to actively participate in a committee or mentorship program.

The Women on the Move® nominees are selected based on professional activities, community service and their life journey. The nominee must be outstanding in her business or profession and have diverse community involvement. Your personal observations and insight regarding the nominee are invaluable to the pre-screening and judging processes.

The nomination form must include the following:
  • A cover letter or statement with any personal observations and insight regarding the nominee. Maximum length – one page.
  • Professional achievements
  • Nominee’s resume or curriculum vitae
  • Narrative of Nominee that addresses these points: (Total of 7 pages)
    • Life journey/Personal history written in nominee’s own words. Please include any significant events/circumstances in the nominee’s life. Maximum length 7700 characters.
    • Most significant professional achievements/awards. Maximum length 7700 characters.
    • Community Service and/or cultural involvement and accomplishments. Maximum length 3850 characters.
    • Any other relevant information that should be considered by TEW in evaluating your candidacy for WOM. Maximum length 3850 characters.
